Warcraft Rumble: Molten Core Raid - Lucifron

Lucifron was the first map I was assigned to for the Molten Core raid. The biggest challenge here was creating the archway hero piece that would perfectly blend into the surrounding rock wall. I initially blocked the idea out in maya with a plane and the cutting tool and then moved everything over to zbrush. In zbrush I keep the dynamesh value quite low because higher values create a messier canvas. For Rumble, big shapes and colors trump fine details since the visual real estate is so small so keeping things large and loose is a better pipeline than working up from small pieces.
